Over the past few days, new developments have been announced regarding the trial of the five players from Team Canada's junior team in 2018.

As you know, Dillon Dube, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote and Alex Formenton have been charged in connection with a sexual assault that occurred at a hotel in London, during an event to celebrate the Canadian under-20 team's gold medal win.

Although this case took a long time before the details of this horrific story were officially made public, everything has unfolded very quickly in the last few months. Moreover, a new development has been announced, as a judge has finally decided that the trial of the five players involved in this scandal will begin on April 22, 2025.

We can therefore expect that there will be new information revealed in this case in the coming weeks, if not months.

Note that Dube is currently the only player who is still playing in a professional circuit, he who recorded three goals and five assists (8 points) in 20 games with the Minsk Dynamo in the KHL.

McLeod had also signed a deal in the KHL. However, after playing 16 games with Barys Astana, the Devils' 2016 first-round pick has decided to leave the team for personal reasons.

More details to follow.
