Goaltender James Reimer was available on National Hockey League waivers, and teams had until 2 p.m. today to claim him.

Kent Hughes' decision is now confirmed: he chose to pass on Reimer.

However, the Sabres decided to reclaim him, even though they had lost him to the Anaheim Ducks this season. In fact, Reimer didn't even get to play a single game with Buffalo.

In two games with Anaheim, he struggled a bit, with two losses, a goals-against average of 4.50 and a save percentage of .864.

In his career, the 36-year-old goaltender has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings.

In 503 games, he has a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .910.

Riley Stillman headed to the American Hockey League

Elliotte Friedman also tells us that 26-year-old left-handed defenseman Riley Stillman has not been claimed on waivers and will be assigned to the American Hockey League.

This season, Stillman has not played a single game due to injury. He belongs to the Carolina Hurricanes, and his $775,000 annual contract is valid until the summer of 2025.

In his career in the Bettman circuit, Stillman has played 158 games. He has collected 26 points, including four goals.
