It's over for Cayden Primeau
Despite the fact that the Montreal Canadiens ended their six-game losing streak Monday in Buffalo, it was Cayden Primeau's performance in net that got people talking after the game.
He allowed five goals on 14 shots and was replaced by Samuel Montembeault after looking bad on the Sabres' fifth goal.
According to the site Habsolumentfan.com, Cayden Primeau's experiment with the Montreal Canadiens must end.
At least that's the opinion of Denis Gauthier of RDS, who didn't hesitate to give his opinion on the CH goalie.
"The elastic is stretched to the maximum. For me, I've seen enough. The sample size for me is quite large. When I consider that we had a ménage à trois last year and that it was a debate not to lose Primeau's services.
I now think that the sample size is large enough and it's now time to find an alternative to support Montembeault."
Same story for Mathias Brunet who declared on BPM Sports that Kent Hughes should start shopping in front of the net.
"It would take a talented and experienced auxiliary because Primeau, unfortunately, he doesn't deliver. You tell yourself yes it's true there was Jake Allen last year and you thought Primeau would be ready... But it's not the case.
Listen, Primeau has almost a 5.00 average!
Do you give Primeau a little break and send him to get back into shape and give Jakub Dobes a game or two? Do you have something to lose?" What do you think?
