Renaud Lavoie just confirmed a rumor on Jeff Gorton and Ivan Demidov
A recent rumor involving Jeff Gorton who is the Montreal Canadiens' Executive VP of Hockey Operations stirred attention in the Montreal media.
According to journalist Daria Tuboltseva from Responsible Gambler, Jeff Gorton supposedly traveled to Russia in October to meet with top prospect Ivan Demidov.
This claim surprised many since no one in the Canadiens' organization or local media had mentioned such a visit.
However, Renaud Lavoie from TVA Sports denied the report on BPM Sports, stating:
Following Renaud Lavoie's clarification, Daria Tuboltseva corrected her statement and she acknowledged that Demidov had indeed met with Canadiens representatives in St. Petersburg, but Gorton was not part of that group.
