Activated from the injured reserve today, updates regarding the Quebec-born player's situation were expected.

Earlier this afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens organization proceeded to an announcement regarding their forward. In fact, the Habs placed forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard on waivers with the purpose of sending him in the AHL with the Laval Rocket.

The 25 year-old winger will be available for all NHL teams until tomorrow at 2 p.m. If RHP isn't claimed by any team, he will be assigned to the Laval Rocket in the upcoming days.

RHP has yet to play in the NHL this season. Following the recovery of his injury, Harvey-Pinard was sent to Laval for conditioning. In 5 games with the Laval Rocket, he scored only one goal.

Drafted in the 7th round of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, Harvey-Pinard played 83 games with the Habs. In those games, he scored 17 goals and added 14 passes for a total of 31 points.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard is currently on the last year of his 2-year contract with a yearly average of 1,1M$ signed back in July 2023.

In 2022-23, he played 34 games with the Montreal Canadiens and impressed many fans by scoring 14 goals. He finished that season with 20 points.

However, last year, he didn't have as much success. He earned 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) in 45 outings.

Do you think another team will take a chance with RHP and claim him off waivers?
