This morning, the team proceeded to another announcement. In fact, they organization confirmed that Joshua Roy was sent down to the Laval Rocket as well.
The 21-year-old winger will join the Rocket for their game against the Syracuse Crunch scheduled on December 4th. His return will be gladly appreciated as the team will look to snap its three-game losing streak.
In four games with the Habs, Roy didn't get any points. However, in 17 games with the Rocket, he has 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points.
With the Quebec-born being sent down, everything seems to be in place for Patrik Laine's return.
Earlier today, the Finn posted a mysterious story on his Instagram account.
While the Montreal Canadiens didn't proceed to an official announcement regarding Laine's possible return, David Calabretta from The Fourth Period reported that the 26-year-old would make his season debut Tuesday as the Habs will face Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders.
Laine sustained a knee injury during the preseason when the Habs faced off against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It will be interesting to see who will play along with him on Tuesday.
Drafted 2nd overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, Laine was acquired by the Habs as well as a 2026 2nd round pick in the trade that sent Jordan Harris to the Columbus Blue Jackets back in August.
In 480 games played with the Winnipeg Jets and the Columbus Blue Jackets, the left winger has 204 goals and 184 assists for a total of 388 points.
