Yesterday, during their matchup against the New York Rangers, the Montreal Canadiens gave updates on forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard as his conditioning in Laval came to an end.

In fact, the team announced, on all their social media platforms, that the 25-year old forward was placed on waivers with the purpose of being sent down to the Laval Rocket.

Harvey-Pinard was available for all other 31 NHL teams until this afternoon at 2 p.m. However, it was confirmed that no team decided to give him a chance by claiming him, which means he was assigned to Laval and will join the Rocket.

Drafted in the 7th round of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Habs, Harvey-Pinard played 83 games in the NHL so far. During those outings, he cumulated a total of 31 points (17 goals and 14 assists).

Harvey-Pinard got injured multiple times during the 2023-24 campaign, sustaining lower-body injuries. His last injury forced him to get operated which caused him to miss the beginning of the current season.

Harvey-Pinard was sent to the Rocket for conditioning before being placed on waivers. During the 5 games he played in the AHL, he only scored one goal.

The Quebec-born player will join the Rocket for their next game on December 4th as they will be facing against the Syracuse Crunch.

The Rocket will be looking to snap their 3-game losing streak and they will be able to count Harvey-Pinard in their lineup to do so.

Do you think the Habs will bring him back up in the upcoming weeks? Or did he lose his spot in the lineup for good?
