Trade proposal involving Kirby Dach and the Anaheim Ducks
Kirby Dach has clearly not lived up to expectations since the beginning of the season, he who was nevertheless destined to be the number two center of the Montreal Canadiens.
In addition, his inefficiency in the faceoff circle, he who displays a success rate of 40.4 percent, forced Martin St. Louis to move him to the wing in order to reduce his responsibilities, and this, in the hopes that he can find his rhythm of play of yesteryear.
Unfortunately, despite some encouraging performances alongside Nick Suzuki, number 77 has been unable to show consistency, even being demoted to the fourth line for tonight's game.
Of course, the knee injury he suffered last season certainly did not help the Habs forward, but many observers are starting to wonder if the Habs general manager, Kent Hughes, can really build his team around a player full of uncertainties.
While some experts stand up for patience in the case of Kirby Dach, others believe that the Canadiens should trade him before his value is at its lowest.
To that end, a proposed trade involving the third overall pick in the 2019 draft and another extremely talented player who is slow to reach his full potential has just surfaced.
A trade involving Kirby Dach and Trevor Zegras?
According to Cole Shelton of Heavy, Hughes should consider the possibility of contacting his Anaheim Ducks counterpart, Pat Verbeek, to offer him Dach for Trevor Zegras.

It should be noted that this is a proposal launched by Cole Shelton, and not a rumor based on true information, but the fact remains that such an exchange could possibly be beneficial for both teams.
We are talking about two young 23-year-old players full of talent, but who have not managed to reach their full potential since their arrival in the NHL.
On one hand, Dach's progress has been delayed by numerous injuries, while on the other hand, Zegras does not seem to be in the good graces of his head coach, which has limited his opportunities with the Ducks.
With that being said, there is no doubt that both forwards could benefit from a change of scenery to revive their careers, especially in the case of Zegras, who has been involved in numerous trade rumors lately.
Let's also recall that the Montreal Canadiens and the Anaheim Ducks had an agreement concerning Zegras at the last draft (Logan Mailloux and the 21st overall pick), but Hughes ultimately decided to keep his first-round pick in order to select Michael Hage.

Selected 9th overall in the 2019 draft, Zegras, who has had two 60-point seasons in the NHL, is struggling to contribute offensively, with only three goals and five assists (8 points) in 20 games.
As for Dach, he is one of the biggest disappointments for the Habs this year. The 6-foot-4, 221-pound forward has collected eight points, including just one goal, in 20 games. He also has a very worrying differential of -15.
