Among the elected members, we find Jeremy Roenick, Pavel Datsuyk and former Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber among the players, while a certain Pierre Houde will be among the hockey immortals by being inducted as a journalist.
Earlier this year, the Canadiens' game announcer on RDS received the Foster-Hewitt Trophy, an honour that is awarded each year by the National Hockey League Broadcasters Association, and which recognizes a member of the radio and television industry who has made an exceptional contribution to their profession and to hockey in general during their career.
That said, who better than Pierre Houde's colleagues to pay tribute to him and one of them comes from his faithful analyst of the last 13 years.
On the RDS website at RDS.ca, Marc Denis paid a vibrant tribute to the man who has been the Canadiens' match announcer on the sports channel since 1989 with a long text that says a lot about the person Pierre Houde is, and also how he is a real workaholic.
This is a simply exceptional tribute to one of the greatest hockey game announcers we have known on Quebec television over the years.
It is Monday night in Toronto that the one who has been in our lives for 35 years now will become a hockey immortal by being admitted to the Hockey Hall of Fame, a fully deserved honour.
Good job Pierre!
