He gave a solid beating to another prospect, Jake Chiasson, drafted in the fourth round by the Edmonton Oilers in 2021. The latter has played only three games with Belleville this season.
Watch the fight here:
As the Rocket's X account would say: "Does that count as a first fight?"
In theory, no, because both players were simply given a 2-minute minor penalty. However, in practice, we can see Xhekaj having a field day with several hits towards his opponent.
Arber's little brother, drafted 101st by the Montreal Canadiens in 2023, was drafted a bit for that. His last name suggests that he has "bite" and that he knows how to fight.
Clearly, if he wants to eventually develop in the National Hockey League, it will probably be in a fourth-line role, playing as a character player, capable of defending his teammates and dropping the mitts when necessary.
Really, we can't wait to see him in Montreal in a year or two!
Since the start of the season, Florian has collected two goals and 14 penalty minutes in 10 games.
