The Montreal Canadiens will be in Buffalo next Monday and for the occasion, there will be a marked change in the game description.

Indeed, Pierre Houde, who has been the game describer for over 35 years, will be absent for a very rare time and his replacement will be Alain Crête.

The reason is very simple: he will receive the Foster-Hewitt Award presented by the Hockey Hall of Fame and Marc Denis, his faithful companion, will be with him.

So it is a new duo that we will have on the air for Monday night's game, with Bruno Gervais and Alain Crête.

"The Canadiens will play Monday in Buffalo. The game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on RDS. Since Pierre Houde will be inducted into the Hall of Fame and Marc Denis will attend the ceremony, Alain Crête and Bruno Gervais will be providing the game description and analysis." - William Julien

A very rare absence for the duo. How many times have we heard Pierre Houde very sick at the microphone, or in mourning.

The describer is always there, no matter what, so the award he will go for is all the more deserved.

The duo of RDs is among the best in the entire NHL, both languages combined. Pierre even almost became the describer of the Colorado Avalanche.

So that means that their work is recognized throughout the NHL and they are able to excel in both languages.

Congratulations Pierre for this great accomplishment and I would like to tell Marc Denis that he will also be honored one day if he continues his good work.
