For the 5th time in a row, the Canadiens lost their game last night to the Devils in New Jersey by a score of 5-3.

The Canadiens have the worst defense in the entire NHL in terms of goals allowed and what is very contradictory is that they are one of the best teams in penalty killing, while they were 3rd recently and they generally stay in the first period.

The press conferences are becoming very difficult for Martin St-Louis, who no longer seems to be able to explain what is wrong to the journalists on site.

The fact is that the fans want him to get tested. People want to see the coach get angry at such mediocre performances night after night, but it does not happen, and the journalists' good nature is pointed out.

Indeed, Renaud Lavoie was a good example of this yesterday, when he immediately put the blame on the referees.

Obviously, Martin St-Louis decided to accept this door that he opened for him.

"Why is Renaud giving Martin St-Louis an easy excuse, blaming it all on the referees? The Canadiens didn't play well tonight. Simple as that." - HFTV

Overall, it wasn't catastrophic for the Canadiens last night, but defensively, it's really pathetic.

Leaving two players alone in the danger zone is unacceptable.

Despite that, Renaud decided to take his time to speak to take the easy way out and let me tell you that it's causing a stir today.

The players aren't very happy to have so little content.

"In the second period, you make an incredible push, you spend a lot of time in their zone, and then unfortunately David Savard gets caught... and bang! »

- Renaud Lavoie

"They didn't help us tonight..."

- Martin St-Louis, obviously talking about the referees.

"No, han..." - Renaud Lavoie

Anyway, I think those who watched the game understand that the Canadiens didn't deserve to win.

I understand what Renaud tried to do and he wanted to spare Martin, but in Montreal, everyone noticed and it looks bad.
