By scoring tonight, Patrik Laine is the first player since Brian Gionta and Travis Moen to score in his first two games in the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge since 2009.

Tuesday night, Laine made his season debut with the Montreal Canadiens uniform as the Habs were facing Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders.

During the 2nd period of that outing, the Finn scored his first of the 2024-25 campaign with a wrist shot that gave no chance to Ilya Sorokin. On the play, Lane Hutson recorded his 16th assist and so did Nick Suzuki.

Tonight, Martin St. Louis' team was facing the struggling Nashville Predators. The Montreal Canadiens were able to sign a second win in a row, winning 3-0 against Andrew Brunette's players.

In the 3rd period of the game, Laine scored his 2nd goal in his 2nd game with another wrist shot. On the play, Hutson and Suzuki prevailed again and assisted on the 26-year old forward's goal.

During the game, goaltender Samuel Montembeault offered another great performance, saving all 29 shots he faced for his third shutout of the season.

Jake Evans and Joel Armia also scored for the Habs, helping the team to give the Predators their 6th loss in a row.

The Montreal Canadiens will be back in action on Saturday as the Washington Capitals will be at the Bell Center. The Caps will play against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday before heading to Montreal.

Do you think Laine can score a 3rd goal in as many outings? And can the Habs get a 3rd win in a row? Stay tuned!
