Day off for Martin St-Louis this morning and it's Trevor Letowski time
The Montreal Canadiens saw a shift in routine today as they prepared to face Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
As reported by Habs Fanatics, head coach Martin St-Louis was given a well-deserved media day off which was allowing assistant coach Trevor Letowski to take the spotlight during press conferences.
Letowski stepped into the spotlight last year when Martin St-Louis took time off for family reasons and shared insightful updates on the team.
One of the highlights was his praise for Alex Carrier and rookie defenseman Lane Hutson who was recently named NHL Rookie of the Month.
Alex Carrier's influence has been substantial since joining the Canadiens and Trevor Letowski said this on his immediate impact:
"The Canadiens' assistant coach, Trevor Letowski, spoke today about Alexandre Carrier's impact since joining the team:
"In the locker room, he has been a very valuable piece.
I don't know how much credit he gets outside the dressing room, but he deserves it.
He has been a very good player for us.
He is very consistent; we know what we're getting with him.
We've gotten to know him very quickly.
He played well from his very first game and during practices.
He has been a nice addition for us."

Martin St-Louis is expected to return to face the media tomorrow as the Canadiens look to build momentum against the Blackhawks in what promises to be an exciting matchup.
Fans can look forward to seeing how young stars like Hutson and impactful players like Carrier contribute to the team's ongoing success.
