Yesterday afternoon's game will be one to remember for Montreal Canadiens' goaltender Jakub Dobes. After being recalled by the organization Friday morning, he obtained his first NHL start against the Florida Panthers yesterday.

With the situation involving Cayden Primeau, who was placed on waivers with the purpose of being sent to the AHL with the Laval Rocket, many hockey fans were waiting to see how Dobes would respond to such an opportunity and he did it with brilliance.

In fact, the 23-year-old netminder stopped all 34 shots he faced to help the Habs win 4-0 over the Panthers.

Dobes became the third goaltender in NHL history to record a shutout against defending Stanley Cup Champions in his NHL debut, joining Daren Puppa and Hal Winkler.

Dobes' performance didn't go unnoticed at all. In fact, after the game, Habs goaltender Carey Price posted on his X account a message for the young netminder to congratulate him.

A really nice move from one of the greatest that must have been really appreciated by the #75.

During the game against the Panthers, Martin St-Louis' team offered one of their best performances of the 2024-25 season. Kirby Dach scored twice while Jake Evans and Cole Caufield added one goal each.

Following the win, you could tell the whole team was satisfied of their game, but was extremely excited for Jakub Dobes.

This morning, the Montreal Canadiens posted on their X account a wrap up of Dobes' debut and performance against Florida.

It must have been an afternoon fulfilled with awesome moments for the Habs' 2020 5th round pick. The Czech also had the opportunity to enjoy this moment with his friends and relatives that attended his NHL debut.

The Montreal Canadiens will be back in action at 5 p.m. tonight as they'll be facing the Tampa Bay Lightning. Jon Cooper's men will be looking to win a third game in a row.
