Since the start of the season, Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach has been criticized on numerous occasions for his disappointing performances.

Although the 23-year-old center has missed almost the entire 2023-2024 campaign, his performances are clearly not living up to expectations at the moment, he who was supposed to be the center of the second line.

Unfortunately, his lack of success in the faceoff circle forced Martin St-Louis to use him on the wing.

On the other hand, despite the fact that he was used on the first line, the third overall pick in 2019 simply seems unable to find his rhythm, he who displays a very worrying differential of -15.

In fact, Carter Verheaghe, Bryan Rust and Philipp Kurashev are the only players in the NHL who have a worse differential than the Habs' number 77.

Besides, nothing to help his situation, the forward was the victim of a completely unnecessary turnover in defensive territory last night, which notably led to the Golden Knights' second goal.

"If you're not helping the team, the last thing you want to do is hurt the team.

See the sequence in question, right here:

Aware of his poor performance, he who finished his evening of work with a differential of -2, Kirby Dach did not beat around the bush during his interview with reporters after the game.

In fact, the forward made quite a gesture by not avoiding questions about him, mentioning that he absolutely had to play better.

Kirby Dach is not looking for excuses for his level of play: "It's time to get to work and get there."

It's reassuring to see that he takes the blame for his recent performances and we only hope that he will be able to find his level of play from two years ago.

We feel that he is frustrated and that he really wants to contribute to the team's success, which is encouraging for the future.

However, it will be interesting to see what Martin St-Louis will want to do with his forward, he who was demoted to the fourth line during last night's game.

In your opinion, should the Habs head coach send him a clear message by sending him to the stands during the next game?
