This celebration will follow his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, scheduled for November 11 in Toronto.
Acquired in 2016 in the trade that sent P.K. Subban to Nashville, Weber left his mark on the organization with his imposing leadership, his formidable throwing and his ability to inspire his teammates.
Weber, who played 1,038 games in the NHL, including five seasons in Montreal, accumulated 589 career points.
As the 30th captain in Canadiens history, he led the team to the Stanley Cup final in 2021, a feat that the Habs had not achieved since 1993. Unfortunately, this final was also his last game, a series of injuries having kept him away from the ice.
At 39, Weber remains on the Utah Hockey Club's long-term injured reserve list. It's still special to not be officially "retired" and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, right?
In short, his impact in Montreal, both on the ice and in the locker room, will remain engraved in the memories of fans.
The Canadiens highlighted this unique moment by paying tribute to him in a press release, thanking Weber for everything he brought to the Bleu-blanc-rouge.
It will be an emotional moment to celebrate a career marked by courage and excellence.
Thank you, Shea, for all these unforgettable moments!
