As you know, the Habs number 30 finally had the opportunity to establish himself in the Bettman circuit this year, especially after Jake Allen's departure last year.
Unfortunately, Primeau is having a simply atrocious start to the season, clearly not meeting management's expectations.
In fact, the goaltender has recorded only one win in seven appearances, posting a goals-against average of 4.67 and an efficiency rate of 0.845.
Some observers even believe that Kent Hughes should send Primeau to waivers in order to recall Jakub Dobes from the Laval Rocket.
During the podcast, Maxime Truman and Jean Trudel discussed the decision Hughes made last year to trade Allen at the deadline, to the detriment of Primeau.
That's when Truman revealed a big piece of information regarding the offers received by the Montreal Canadiens general manager, mentioning that teams were willing to offer more for Primeau than for Allen.
Knowing that the 34-year-old veteran was traded to the New Jersey Devils for a conditional 2nd-round pick, we can therefore insinuate that some teams were ready to pay, at a minimum, a 2nd-round pick for Primeau.
Clearly, Hughes made the wrong decision by trading Allen, who could have been a quality auxiliary to back up Samuel Montembeault.
In addition, the Canadiens would have gotten their hands on a very interesting draft pick, and this, for a goalie whose value is practically non-existent at the moment.
Should the Canadiens have traded Primeau?
