Following a sequence of five games on the road, the Montreal Canadiens are back at the Bell Center tonight as they're facing the Vancouver Canucks at 7:30 p.m.

Unfortunately for Martin St. Louis' team, they'll be playing without two key players again tonight, David Savard (upper body injury) and Patrik Laine (flu).

Both players will miss a third game in a row, while Samuel Montembeault will be back in front of the net. No other change was made to the Habs' roster for tonight's outing.

The Habs will be trying to pursue their sequence and their chase for a playoff spot as they won four of their past five games. During their trip on the road, they beat four recent Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche.

With a win tonight, Montreal could temporarily get into a playoff spot as the fight is tight in the Eastern Conference.

The Bleu-Blanc-Rouge will be facing a Vancouver team covered by injuries as Dakota Joshua, Elias Pettersson and Thatcher Demko will be absent. As for Quinn Hughes, he'll be a game-time decision.

Rick Tocchet's team has been struggling for the past games with a mediocre record of 3-4-3. They're starting their sequence on the road against Montreal and will, then, head to Washington, Carolina, Toronto and Winnipeg.

Currently 4th in the Pacific Division, the Canucks temporarily have the last wild card spot giving access to the playoffs.

With all the trade rumours surrounding Vancouver, mainly because of Pettersson and J.T. Miller, many NHL team managers are expected at the Bell Center tonight. It will be interesting to see how this game turns out.
