Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine has been sidelined for the past three games due to flu-like symptoms.

As reported by Habs Fanatics, while illnesses of this nature are common during the season, missing three games is unusual and started some concerns among fans.

However, TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie shared an encouraging update during his time on BPM Sports radio and according to him, Laine is expected to join the team on Friday, with plans to practice with the group this week.

"This morning, on BPM Sports with Max Lalonde and Gilbert Delorme, Renaud Lavoie said we should expect to see Laine back in action on Friday.

Laine, who has been sick for a few days, should practice with the group this week.»

This reassuring news puts to rest worries about a prolonged absence and Laine's return could not come at a better time.

Despite his absence, the Canadiens have played very well with players like Cole Caufield and Kirby Dach stepping up impressively to maintain the team's momentum.

Laine has been one of the prime contributors for the Habs this season since he has already scored eight goals and registered 10 points in just 13 games.

His presence on the ice adds size, skill and his lethal scoring is so dangerous and few can match that.

With Laine set to rejoin the lineup, Michael Pezzetta is expected to return to the press box and the Canadiens will be eager to see their roster at full strength as they continue to push for playoff contention.

Fans can look forward to seeing how Laine's return impacts the team's performance, especially if Caufield and Dach maintain their elevated levels of play.

The Canadiens' playoff aspirations for 2025 may become more tangible as their lineup solidifies and since they are now in the wild-card position.
