Three NHL general managers: Kyle Dubas, Bill Armstrong, and Don Sweeney, were at a Laval Rocket game against the Abbotsford Canucks on Friday night - and it has started speculations.

As reported by Habs Fanatics, one theory about why they were all there revolves around Cayden Primeau, the Laval Rocket goaltender who recently cleared waivers.

Making his first start of the season in the AHL, Primeau delivered a solid performance despite allowing a soft goa. Given the Canadiens' goaltending depth, his availability may have started some interest.

However, it's possible that Primeau was not the primary focus of the GMs' visit and another plausible explanation is a focus on players from the Abbotsford Canucks, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.

With reports from sources like Renaud Lavoie suggesting a significant trade could be brewing in Vancouver, the Abbotsford roster may have been under the scope for some players.

The Canucks' situation mixed with the trade rumors surrounding stars like Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller just adds fuel to the fire.

Alternatively, the executives' presence could be tied to attending the World Junior Championship quarterfinals in Ottawa the previous night and with no tournament games on Friday, the GMs might have taken the opportunity to scout in Laval, which is not that far from Ottawa

While the exact purpose of their visit remains speculative, the implications are intriguing and whether it's scouting for a potential trade, assessing Primeau's value, or simply evaluating prospects, their presence suggests something significant is in the works.

For now, fans can only wait and watch as the trade deadline approaches and Vancouver's situation continues to unfold.
